POST AUCTION EDITORIAL - 13 ACRES AT DAARS, SALLINS, CO. KILDARE




Jordan Auctioneers successfully sold 13 acres of good quality land in the townsland of Daars, close to Straffan 3km, Sallins 4km & Naas 6km after the Public Auction on Tuesday last.

Before a small attendance bidding opened at €70,000 with 3 active buyers up to €112,000 at which point the land was subsequently withdrawn and sold afterwards for an undisclosed sum following private negotiations.

The entire comprised c. 13 acres (5.26 hectares) all in permanent pasture with natural boundaries and good road frontage.  According to Clive Kavanagh of the selling agents ‘the entire would make an ideal site for a residence subject to obtaining the necessary Planning Permission at a future date and the buyer is understood to be from the general area’.

POST AUCTION PRESS RELEASE - RATHNURE HOUSE, RATHNURE, ENNISCORTHY, CO. WEXFORD ON C. 79 ACRES




Jordan Auctioneers successfully sold a smashing farm in Rathnure, Co.Wexford by Public Auction on Thursday last for €1,500,000 equating to almost €19,000 per acre including the house & yard. Rathnure House on 79 acres was an Executor sale and before a packed crowd of about 60 people it was obvious beforehand that this Auction was going to be lively from the outset.

Jordan’s offered the property in a number of lots in addition to the entire and while the individual lots commanded interest bidding on the entire kept trumping the lots.

Lot 1: House & Yard on c.6.6 acres:              bid to €190k
Lot 2: 21.4 acres:                                            bid to €460k
Lot 3: 34.3 acres:                                            bid to €500k
Lot 4: 16.47 acres:                                          bid to €310k

Lot 5: The entire received one additional bid to €1,500,000 and was sold to a Solictor acting in trust on behalf of a client.

The entire is located approximately 12km from Enniscorthy, 18km to New Ross and 20km to Bunclody. The residence comprised a two storey farmhouse with rear extension on a lovely elevated site. It was approached via a tree lined avenue and set back from the road. Although in need of modernisation it comprised a number of reception rooms in addition to 3 / 4 bedrooms with a total floor area of approximately 230 sq.m (2,475 sq.ft). Located inside the main entrance was also an old gate lodge/ cottage which is derelict but would be ideal for replacement at a future date.

Jordan Auctioneers successfully sold a detached house on 18 acres by Public Auction on Tuesday last for €370,000. The property which was situated in Blacktrench, Naas was an Executor sale and comprised a bungalow of circa 1,680 sq. ft. (c. 156 sq. m.) with 4 bedrooms.

Outside, there was a large workshop with a concrete yard and separate entrance. The majority of the land was all in timber apart from a paddock to the rear and side of the yard.

Before an attendance of about 20 people bidding started at €225,000 with three active buyers. The property was placed on the marked at €360,000 and two further bids were received before the hammer dropped at €370,000.

According to Auctioneer Clive Kavanagh one of the main attractions of the property was ‘its proximity to Naas, Newbridge and the M7 in addition to the presence of a good shed and a house which upon some upgrade would make a fine home’.
